FIRST ANNUAL WINTER WORKSHOP SERIES COMPLETE!

Thanks to a generous grant provided by the Fund The Flow Arts, Chicago Full Moon Jam hosted a Winter Workshop Series on the Second Saturday of every month between November 2024 - April 2025. These daytime all-ages flow workshops were held at various Park District Fieldhouses and were free to attend. The series was a huge success! We hosted 30 amazing workshops for 300 amazing attendees! Thanks to all who instructed, organized, and attended!

Anyone interested in performing at the Jams must take a Fire Safety Training and sign up in advance by filling out the form below.

IMPORTANT: If you HAVE NEVER performed at the Jams before, or if you plan to perform with large/unique props, fire breath, or volunteer, you must first attend a fire safety training at one of the "Reserve Jams" on June 8th, July 6th, August 3rd, or September 7th. Our Level 2 Training also provides valuable information on permitting, insurance, and guidance on performing professionally.

If you HAVE performed at a Jam before, but have not taken the training since 2022, you can sign up to attend a Refresher Course held before any Jam held at Foster Beach to renew your status on our Approved Performer List through the end of 2027. Email us at info@fullmoonjam.org if you don't remember when you last took the training.

Please follow the link below for more information, and feel free to share this link with anyone you know who may be interested in performing with fire! Our community relies on everyone using best safety practices to grow and thrive, and we would love to share our knowledge and experience with everyone!

2025 FMJ TOWN HALL MEETING

The Full Moon Jam will be hosting our annual Town Hall online on Monday, May 26th at 7:30 pm. If you'd like to attend the meeting, please RSVP by filling out the FMJ Town Hall 2025 Sign-Up Form. If you cannot attend, we will be recording the Town Hall and posting it on our YouTube channel.

Every year, we host an open Town Hall Meeting where we discuss the history of the Jams, recap last year's season, and review our budget and programming goals for the upcoming year. We encourage community attendance and input from everyone as we plan our 2025 season and beyond. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to get more involved in the FMJ to share their ideas and get to know the organizers.

KINETIC FIRE

Kinetic Fire is the premier Midwestern Fire Performers Gathering, held on May 15-18, 2025! Kinetic Fire brings together the Midwest and beyond in a 4-day gathering of learning, performing, and community within the object manipulation community. Take lessons from your favorite instructors, spin and juggle with your friends, enjoy the galas, and take part in music and dancing in the fire circle each night!

IGNITE YOUR SPIRIT: JOIN FIRE ALCHEMY GATHERING AND KINDLING COMMUNITY!

This summer, step into the transformative magic of Fire Alchemy Gathering - a celebration of resilience, joy, and the sacred fire that lives within us all. Through dance, ritual, workshops, and communal creation, we will honor the medicine of fire as a catalyst for healing, connection, and renewal.

Want to help others experience the alchemy of community and transformation? Join us at Kindling Community: A Fire Alchemy Prayerformance, a special fundraising event to support scholarships for Fire Alchemy Gathering. The evening will include performances, raffle prizes, and a post-show dance party. Your presence and generosity will spark opportunity for those who might not otherwise be able to attend.

Q1 BOARD MEETING NOTES

In the spirit of transparency, we have uploaded all the board meeting minute notes of the Full Moon Jam Foundation from 2024 and our most recent quarter 1 meeting from 2025. We invite the community to stay up to date on the latest discussions and developments of the Full Moon Jams and hope to encourage more to get involved and propose new ways we can help to improve our events and reach out to new audiences and communities.

PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT

Big Fine (she/her)

I've been a proud participant/observer in the Chicago Full Moon Jam since 2022, and it has truly been an inspiring journey. My journey in fire spinning began in 2022 through an incredible seven-month program called Pussy Magic, hosted by the talented Lady Gaea. This transformative experience paved the way for my participation in the Fire Alchemy retreat, marking the start of my personal journey as a Fire Artist.

What I cherish most about the FMJ community is the opportunity to witness the diverse perspectives within Fire Artistry. Whether it's the awe of first-time spinners, the expertise of seasoned performers, or the enthusiasm of spectators, the atmosphere is truly magical and unparalleled.

Looking ahead, I am excited to announce that my talented friends and I, also Fire Artists, will host a workshop called Fire Starters. In this workshop, we aim to guide beginners as they gently immerse themselves in the world of Fire Artistry. We will provide an in-depth fire safety risk mitigation session, equipping performers with essential knowledge of fire safety vocabulary, procedures, and much more. We are excited to share this with others and inspire the next generation of Fire Artists!
