WINTER WORKSHOP SERIES
Thanks to a generous grant provided by the Fund The Flow Arts, Chicago Full Moon Jam will be hosting a Winter Workshop Series held on every second Saturday running from November - April. These daytime all-ages flow workshops will be held at various Park District Fieldhouses where classes will take place between 11:00am - 3:00pm with a Flow Jam taking place afterward from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.
We are looking for 12+ instructors to teach classes at these events. Each instructor will be offered $150 for each class taught, as well as an allergen-friendly lunch.
We are also putting together a prop library for all the classes listed below so that anyone can attend. If you have any old props you would like to contribute to the Jam library, please send an email to info@fullmoonjam.org with the quantity and condition of the props you would like to donate!
If you would like to participate as an instructor in this series, please fill out the Winter Workshop Application Form by Sunday, October 20th! We plan to review the applications and notify everyone of our final selections by November 1st.

PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT: Olivia Morgan (she/her)
I have been coming to FMJ since they started back up again in 2021. I’ve been doing flow and fire spinning since early 2021. In late 2020, I met and became friends with a couple organizers/volunteers of FMJ. Soon after, I started experimenting with different props, practicing/flowing, and after a few months burning. Living in the suburbs, however, pretty far away from other flow people, my flow journey mainly started off as a solo one…practicing and experimenting in abandoned parking lots with cheap or homemade props.
I started off with a long-string levi wand and a homemade long-staff, before finally discovering that dragon-staff is the prop for me. And recently I was gifted a fire trident that I am excited to burn and perform with more! I love the sense of community and art. There is space there for all types of artists. Fire dancers, photographers, drummers, dancers, etc. And I love that it gives people a place to burn and perform that would otherwise not have that. The last couple of years I’ve especially been enjoying bouncing back and forth between burning/performing and photographing the jams.
