NEW BOARD MEMBER & EVENT LEAD ANNOUNCEMENT
We are excited to announce that the Full Moon Jam Foundation has new board members and event Leads! The Jams face a plethora of new challenges every year, and we are confident that these new leads will be a positive force of change in overcoming those challenges. Their experience, communication, and initiative will be invaluable as we expand our programming.Â
We are grateful for all of their generous contributions to the Full Moon Jam and their dedication to community guidance. The Jams are sustained and flourish thanks to the efforts of folks like these.

Big Fine Anderson (she/her)
Big Fine Anderson is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary fire and flow artist, facilitator, and producer devoted to cultivating safe, accountable, and artist-centered creative spaces. As the founder of Aplomb Lifestyle LLC, she produces immersive performances and educational workshops grounded in consent, embodiment, and creative excellence. With a background in governance and organizational systems, she brings both artistic depth and operational clarity to her leadership. As a member of the Chicago Full Moon Jam Board, Big Fine is committed to strengthening sustainable practices, fostering an inclusive community, and supporting FMJ’s continued evolution as a vibrant space for artists.

Stone Watters (they/them)
A theatre artist of over twenty-five years, Stone Watters has worn every possible hat in the live production space, from performer to designer to producer to administrator. Over the past decade, Stone’s work has focused on how to support artistic communities in adapting to a digital world. This has manifested through projects like CHICN, a live-streaming production studio, and the Comedy Community Center, a catch-all space for creators to incubate projects, produce video content, and find support and services not otherwise offered in the community. As a photographer, Stone covers a variety of live performance mediums and has found a passion in capturing live fire performance at the Full Moon Jam and beyond. Stone lives in Albany Park with their twelve-year-old dachshund mix, Salchi.

Ivy (she/her)
Ivy is a multidisciplinary performer with over 15 years of experience. When she discovered the Full Moon Jam in 2022, she was hooked immediately. She started spinning fire 5 years ago and specializes in Fans and Dragon Staff. Along with performing, Ivy has a special passion for fire safety education at all levels, focusing on boundaries, self-consent, and risk mitigation. When not keeping the flow of the great circle, Ivy can be found working in Non-Profit Management and jumping in the lake. She is excited to bring her skills to the Full Moon Jam as a Board Member, Event Lead, and Reserve Jam instructor.

Kale (they/them)
Kale is a multi-disciplinary human on a journey of growth. They found hula hoops as a teen and have been hooping for 11 years. Kale has been spinning fire for five years and now performs professionally with LED hoops and various fire props. In addition to teaching hoops for three years, they have been a rock climbing instructor for five years. Kale is the Flow Coordinator for Flow Fest Chicago and has volunteered at flow festivals around the states. They love to read, learn, and build connections. Kale is excited to bring their experience in community organizing to the board and to continue fostering restorative justice principles within the jam!

Mike Trahey (he/him)
Mike Trahey found the Full Moon Jam and started spinning fire in 2006. This summer, he will celebrate his 20th year as a spectator, performer, organizer, and now an Event Lead of the Full Moon Jam. He loves to spin all the things, but you will almost certainly find him with his poi. He has performed with fire at countless backyard BBQ’s, birthday parties, and corporate events. You may have seen him on TV performing for over a decade in the McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Chicago’s State Street. He has also participated in Chicago’s Arts in the Dark Parade, Haunted Halsted Parade, multiple parades around the suburbs of Chicago, and has been as far as Honolulu, Hawaii, to perform in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. He has also performed at several music festivals such as Wavefront, Mamby on the Beach, Freaky Deaky, and Riot Fest. In 2012, he was honored to be a part of the Great Lakes Fire Conclave at Burning Man. He is a special education teacher with the Chicago Public Schools and is finishing his 22nd year in education. You will definitely see him at the upcoming reserve jams, hosting level 1 or level 2 safety training. You can also find him at the Full Moon Jam starting this summer, wearing a red shirt!

✨ PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT ✨
Indigo Terra (she/they)
The magic of the Chicago Full Moon Jam isn’t just the fire—it’s the people who help keep the circle alive. Our volunteers bring care, creativity, and community spirit to every gathering. This month, we’re excited to spotlight Indigo Terra, whose journey began as a captivated spectator and grew into becoming part of the Jam’s volunteer and fire safety community. Here’s a little more about Indigo, in their own words:
Indigo Terra (she/they)
The Full Moon Jam is one of the most magical experiences in Chicago. I first attended as a spectator and instantly fell in love with the energy and movement at the jams. The next year, I started helping pick up trash after a jam, met the organizers and volunteers, and was inspired to get more involved. I attended a FMJ Volunteer Fire Safety Training and, with the encouragement of others, started to flow with fire.
My favorite thing about FMJ is how open it is! People genuinely want others to learn, explore, and feel included. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, being part of a community that shares my love of movement and creativity has been inspiring.
For the upcoming FMJ fundraiser, I'll be offering a 60-minute bodywork session as a raffle prize through my mobile practice, Bodywork by Indigo, and I'm excited to bring bodywork to more events this year.
