FMJ SUMMER 2026 UPDATES
Our first Full Moon Jams of the season at Foster Beach and Dark Side of the Moon Jam in Evanston were fantastic kick-offs to the season! Thank you to all the performers & volunteers who helped to make them happen!
We also want to express our gratitude for our new website, which was generously designed by Fishers of Folk Digital Design.
We also want to take a moment to remind everyone that, per Park District Law, vending is not permitted at the Jams. The Full Moon Jams are a decommodified event, which means that no unauthorized transactions are permitted at our events. Any questions regarding permits, vending authorization, or park regulations should be directed to the Park District. If you see anyone not adhering to these policies or creating a disturbance at the Jams, please find an event organizer and let us know so that we can help out.
2026 TOWN HALL RECAP
In May, we held our annual Town Hall Meeting online and discussed the Jam’s history, 2025 recap, budget, and plans for 2026 and beyond. To watch the presentation, click here! For a written summary of the town hall, click here!
FLOWCHEMY PRE-JAM YOGA & SOUND BATH
Begin your Full Moon Jam experience with an hour of mindful movement, breath, and sound. This all-levels yoga class is designed to help you release tension, ground your energy, and reconnect with yourself before the evening's festivities begin. Following the practice, enjoy a relaxing sound bath featuring crystal singing bowls and other soothing instruments, allowing the vibrations to calm the mind, restore balance, and invite a sense of peace. Whether you're new to yoga or a longtime practitioner, this welcoming experience offers a beautiful opportunity to arrive fully present, connect with community, and ease into the magic of the evening.
Flowchemy Yoga class will begin at 6:00 PM and wrap up by 7:00 PM before the start of every Jam scheduled this season (except on July 4th). Please bring a yoga mat or blanket if you have one.
About Flowchemy - IG flowchemy.experienceFlowchemy is a wellness company that blends the fluid practice of yoga with the transformative power of inner growth, creating experiences that help turn moments of stillness, movement, and self-discovery into lasting personal transformation. WINNEMAC FOURTH FOR ALL
We will be hosting a Jam on the Fourth of July in Winnemac Park! This event is sponsored by the Winnemac Park Advisory Council, and it is our hope to bring a sense of peace and calm to an otherwise chaotic day of celebration.
We must ask that NO ONE BRING FIREWORKS to this event, and encourage our community to discourage the use of them during our performances, as these can be a hazard to the performers and audience, and pose a risk to our ability to pull permits in the future. If you see anyone attempting to light fireworks in the vicinity of our event, we ask that you find an event organizer and notify them immediately.
We will be hosting free flow workshops in the park near the Damen side parking lot at 3:30pm at 5:00pm. At 3:30pm, Kayla Kusion will be hosting an Intro to Double Staff workshop, and at 5:00pm, Be Love will be hosting an Intro to Poi workshop. These workshops will be all-ages, no experience necessary, free to attend, and additional props will be available for the first 40 attendees to arrive!
There will be food trucks and daytime activities throughout the day, so be sure to come out early and enjoy a stroll through the park!
CONSENT ROUNDTABLE
The FMJ board is always interested in community members' insights and feedback about how to improve the safety of our events and cultivate a culture that prioritizes consent. To provide a space for community members to share thoughts on these topics, we are hosting a roundtable on how our event can best promote consent and safety at the June 28th Reserve Jam at 4pm. Join board and community members for an open conversation surrounding how to build awareness of consent in the FMJ community and improve the board's reporting and response protocols.
If you'd like to attend, please fill out the RESERVE JAM FIRE SAFETY + GUARDIAN TRAINING SIGN-UP FORM:
TACO TUESDAY FLOW JAM
(Community Event)
For those looking for ways to meet up with more flow friends, we encourage you to check out Taco Tuesday Flow Jam in Palmer Square Park. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the flow community, learn new flow skills, and make new friends!
Taco Tuesday Flow Jam is a weekly gathering of flow artists, acro yogis, and jugglers. It’s a great small event to learn new skills and connect with the local community! It starts at 5 PM and goes until sundown every Tuesday. It’s located in the center of Palmer Square on the north side of the park near the totem pole.
Please note that fire performances are not permitted at the Taco Tuesday Flow Jams.

I have been fire spinning for about 2.5 years, although I only really do any flowing in the summers! I was actually really spooked by fire but a lot of my fellow performing friends did it. One in particular was teaching an intro to fire class that I took and the rest is history! II love that the jams are a no-pressure environment where I get to light up and just have fun! Plus it gets me outside and among the community and friends I don't often have time to see outside of the jams. I also love getting to watch all of the other amazing performers.
